Day 3 - Wolfratshausen - München
Big break: near Grünwald
Weather: cloudy + sometimes rainy + little dreary
Finally, after we wait for months, it was time - it could be started! We started in munich, of course. First we hat to deal with the way to the munich mainstation and also with boarding the
train. It was not as easy as we thought, because there was the equip, the trail and our dog... and a few human beings.
But after a few turbulences we also mastered the entry somehow according to the circumstances. Only hanging the bike might not work right away, but we soon got that too. So it was about 7:30 in the morning and it was pretty bright, the temperatures were really pleasant. The trainride took about 1,5 hours. We used this time to enjoy the nature outside and hug Mimmo a lot.
When we got out of the train in Mittenwald, there was a icy air wall - that was certainly 20 degrees difference between the train inside and the temperature in the small village!
After we refreshed ourselves with coffee and some rolls with marmalade, we started our tour. We soon found out, that it was really warm when the sund was shining. So we often had to change our clothes.
We quickly relized how much the weight of the backpacks was on our backs. But not only the weight took some getting used to - also the heat that jammed up on the back. Cold wind from the front - back heat on the back! But the view compensated us immensely.
After we passed the Isarcanal and did not know where to go, we decided us to go left (and we were right!) It goes in the first section, until after the golf course, comfortably along without a strange slope / gradient. Downhill then go from the toll to the golf course in Wallgau, and more twice more steeply uphill, until you finally arrive in case and thus at Sylvensteinstausee.
We spent a lot of time at Sylvensteinsee, 'cause we both - no we three love this place. After we left from our big break in the direction of Arzbach, it was pretty fast in the sunshine along the paths. I would particularly like to mention the change in flora in the area between Almbach and Anger. It looks like a steppe - bristly small plants with hard leaves, and the color wasily goes in to the grayish, as I last on the was to Budapest had seen. I'm just guessing it's a moorland or wetland.
Finally: We reached the campsite! The reception was really warmly!
What can be seen on the foto: The attempt to destroy the chaos. This was our first time we were camping together. This was also our first time in this (really small) tent. And finally: this was our first time with this sweet little stove - but the last time that we cooked this dish!
Pretty hilly between Arzbach and Wolfratshausen! You may not belive it, but the was to Bad Tölz is more normal.
And how should it be otherwise in Bad Tölz.... It comes to the junction without signposts and of yourse we have taken the wrong path. A pretty lousy way as we have then recognized. And although it was over the weir shortly after Bad Tölz - on bars and stairs. But we took this as an opportunity to take a nice break and let the cows frighten us.
Nevertheless after this forced circular tour in Bad Tölz we found the way back to the currently way. And here we went unfortunately away from the Isar - up on hills, where many up´s and down´s were announced. Wonderful views were the result - unfortunately the batteries from the phones failed and we were not so well equipped, that we could have loaded them on the road.
Last but not least we arrived - totally out of breath and hungry - in Wolfratshausen. The young owner was very friendly and sent us to the tent meadow, where we were the only ones in this season. The main season for him is the Oktoberfest.
At the Tengelmann and the Denns we have set for the evening meal. Along the Loisach you can walk in the evening hours!
At night, it started to thunderstorms and rain, but the tarpaulin, as well as the wheels + trailer have endured this very great.
The lousy mood did not come from the weather! But from the knowledge that we will be soon back in Munich and be re-pressed into the forced everyday life ..
The route starts relatively easy - and for a while along the Isar canal. The progress was pretty fast!
Before the weir near Strasslach you should turn sharp right to stay on the Isar bike path. The path leads through the forest for a longer time - quite romantic, even if it was rainy and dreary. The road conditions are mainly gravely, which we have taken to the reason that Mimmo usually just ran along with us.
Somewhere at Grünwald we came out. Unfortunately, the directions of the Isar cycle path in Munich are not so good, so we drove pretty fast with Google Maps in the direction of our home.
Back to Munich! We were very sad that we arrived home so quickly. Nevertheless, this little trip was a really great experience!
